A GOOD QUESTION
Wednesday, June 8, 2011
YOU ARE PART OF THE STORY
For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
Have you ever wondered why, with countless numbers of angels to do His bidding, and His own omnipotence and omnipresence, God chooses to involve us in His work in the world? The Scripture above from Paul means that God not only created the world with us in it, but He also created every good thing we will do with our lives. He didn't just set the world up and then leave us on our own. No. He is intimately involved with what we are doing every day, having planned it out in advance. He not only created this great story we are living, but is still creating it! And you get to be a part of it all. But, what happens if you don’t get involved and participate in the ongoing story of the Scriptures? Be assured, God's work will go on in spite of us, but He absolutely loves to factors us into the equation. He wants you to be a magnificent and integral part of His great adventure. That is why it is such a privilege and a joy to serve Him. It is a tremendous opportunity for you to find purpose and meaning in the world. This is your unique chance to enter into God’s creative process with Him. You see, He doesn't need us, but He wants us. He has always longed to share His great work with you. For in the beginning, before you were created, God said, "Let us make people in our image, to be like ourselves. They will be masters over all life.”
Isn't it amazing that He would give you so much importance in His creation? Do you want to find out what He wants you to do? Suddenly that little thing you know He wants you to do for your neighbor or your fellow-worker takes on much bigger significance, doesn't it? What great work is He sharing with you today?
Today’s PrayerLord Jesus, thank you for bringing me into the story of your great creation. I only ask that you make me worthy of this adventure. Give me the vision to do whatever work you need me to do without hesitation. If there is a need, let me fill it. If there is a hurt, let me heal it. If there is a lost soul, let me find it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

NO GREATER ACT

VICTORY IS YOURS!
These are some of God’s instructions to Joshua as he was about to become leader of the Israelites. Clearly, the Lord commanded him to constantly meditate on His Word and to keep it on his lips. God is teaching us a very important lesson, “Think about and speak My Word all the time and you will be victorious.”
But, how can you really bring God’s Word to life in the trenches of your everyday battles? Only by the renewal of your mind. To win the many battles this life throws at us, we must begin with a Godly mind. An earthly mind cannot overcome earthly ordeals. Only a renewed Godly mind can do that. And how do we renew our minds?

SEEKING JOY
The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Psalm 126:3
We all seek to find joy, thinking there is one perfect thing in our work, our recreation or our relationships that will finally complete our lives. In our search, we create hectic schedules, full of activities, dashing from one task to the next. Then, we collapse at the end of each day, fooling ourselves into thinking that a filled life is a fulfilled life.Thursday, February 10, 2011

Jesus is Crazy About You!
"The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”
Zephaniah 3:17
Very recently, a bright young man began his college career on a full athletic scholarship. His sport was diving and, along with his being an excellent student, he was bound for the upcoming Summer Olympics. Having been raised an atheist, he never much thought about God. The young man simply thought of faith as an irrelevant issue in his life.
Things were going so well, who needed God?
This is what he told his friend, another diver on the team who was a Christian. His friend was the only Christian influence in the young man’s life, but he never paid much attention to his frequent sermons.
One night the young, promising diver went to the indoor pool at his college. Being the top diver on the team he had 24/7 access to the pool for practice. He was eager to get started. The lights were all off, but as the pool had big skylights and the moon was bright, there was plenty of light to practice by. The young man climbed up to the highest diving board for his first dive. Alone in the great cavernous space, he turned his back to the pool on the edge of the board and extended his arms out. Then he it; his shadow on the wall
The shadow of his body was in the shape of a cross.
That’s when he felt the great love and protection wash over him and inside his heart. Instead of diving, he knelt down and finally asked God to come into his life. As the young man stood, a maintenance man walked in and turned the lights
on.
The pool had been drained for repairs.
As you begin the new year, I want to remind you of some very important facts:
- If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.
- If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.
- He sends you flowers every spring.
- He sends you a sunrise every morning.
- Whenever you want to talk, He listens.
- He can live anywhere in the universe, but He chose your heart.
Just face it. Jesus is crazy about you! He is always by your side, watching you and holding onto you. Never forget that if you are on your knees in prayer, you are in no danger. So here is what I want you to do: be that friend to someone who does not believe. Tell them about your Jesus. Show them what it’s like to be a compassionate and loving person in the Lord. Because one of these days, your friend, you know, the one who does not believe in God, is going to be standing above an empty pool . . .
And when that moment comes for them, will your words echo in their ears before they jump?
Today’s Prayer
Dear Lord, thank you for always being with me through thick and thin. Thank you for being by my side in times of trouble and triumph. And thank you for saving me from myself. Whenever I need You, You are there. Give me the strength and love to share Your guidance, Your love and Your grace with those around me, so that they will have what You have given me. Amen.Hide all
